We’re searching for an experienced Principal Mobile Engineer with a passion for building great applications with intuitive UX to join our team. You understand the need for easily and automated tested code balanced against the need to move fast in delivery. You’ll be working on a product that is a part of day-to-day life of millions of people, and what you do will define how they interact with the company on a daily basis.

A bit about the role…
As a principal engineer in our mobile teams you’ll work with teams of mobile developers, alongside backend engineers, product designers and managers, QA testers, data scientists and business analysts. Along with being part of the extended leadership function within the Digital Technology area of Costa. You and your team(s) will be responsible for delivering the roadmap set out for the Digital area as well as continuously improving what is already out there. As a leader in the area you’ll have the opportunity to have impact on both what we build, and how we build it.
- Lead on technical decisions and roadmap for the Costa App alongside Solution Architects, to find the right solutions for the Costa mobile app
- Help set the technical vision and strategy, working within the extended digital leadership group to support the delivery of the product roadmap and vision.
- Mentor the more junior members in the App teams to help grow our expertise in the area.
- Code quality reviewing and standards setting.
- Work closely with our product and design teams to build new and innovative application experiences.
- Analyse and optimise code for quality, efficiency, and performance.

- Experience supporting multiple codebases across different markets.

- Experience leading full life cycle development from a technical viewpoint – concept, design, build (code), deploy, test, release, functional and performance test automation.
- Experience in technical decision making on solutions and issues.

Location / Travel:
The role will be hybrid model with the expectation of being in the Sofia office 2-3 days per week as required. Some international travel may also be required on up to a quarterly basis e.g. to the UK to participate in face to face planning meetings with our central digital teams and stakeholders.
